The Hut Community Centre has been serving the Adelaide Hills community in South Australia since it was formed in 1979.
The Hut works in collaboration with individuals, community groups and agencies to identify community needs and either facilitate or coordinate activities and services for hills residents.
Our services fall into three core areas of focus;
- support & assistance
- education & training, and
- healthy living
The Hut’s programs. activities and services are provided with the help of a dedicated and enthusiastic group of volunteers. New volunteers are always welcome to join us, learn new skills, meet new friends and join in community activities.
Sustainability, including both financial and environmental, is a feature of our Strategic Plan. It is also something The Hut Board, management and staff believe is important locally as well as globally. At a grass roots level, we have worked hard to change many of our practices. In January 2025, we were successful in receiving a government rebate for the upgrade of our solar panels and the purchase of a new battery. This will help to reduce our impact on the environment while also reducing our expenses.
