The Spring Holiday Program was a blast! The Hut Community Shed hosted another popular boat building session. This design by volunteer Tony Hooper includes an elastic band powered paddle. These boats are all made using recycled timber and DIY packs are available while stocks last at The Hut. Thanks so much to Tony, Michelle, Geoff and Eddie for your creativity, time and for making the shed accessible to all of our community. Jana and Sally from the Teetaka Ila Platform Community Gardens led a Little Diggers Kids Gardening Session which took children through all the stages of gardening. We mixed our own potting mix, planted seeds, made labels & watered. Then we moved over to the veggie pods and harvested kilos of veggies including broccoli, cabbage, kale, celery, coriander, parsley, silver beet and more. We planted out some new strawberries for everyone to come back and visit on their next trip to Teetaka Ila. Everyone took home a bag of fresh produce to share with their families. Thanks so much to Jana, Sally and Tony for this fun introduction to the garden! Cam from Gooroo Animation led a full program in lego animation! In a few short hours participants worked together to write, direct and animate their own stories! At the end of a program their work was celebrated at a screening that had us on the edge of our seats! Thanks Cam and for all those who came along. Check out the Gooroo Animation Youtube Channel to see the works for yourself!
