Our school holiday program this winter set sail with boat building with the Community Shed. Busy hands constructed and decorated boats to set sail on the winter creeks of the Adelaide Hills. Led by the skilled and friendly Community Shed – PIRATES – we sang pirate songs, talked to parrots in between hammering and gluing these beautiful creations. We have heard from participants that these boats have set sail in nearby Aldgate Creek and as far away as Fisherman’s Bay, Pt Elliot! Kits are available for sail as a fundraiser at The Hut, so call in to make an order. We lit up a winters night with a lantern making workshop by Hills Artist Bec Trethowan. We blended colours, oiled, twisted, glued with care. We then rugged up and braved the winters eve with a walk around Woorabinda lake led by our glowing lanterns and we sang all the way! Finally Circus Artist Katie Wright warmed up our cold winter bodies with twirling and whirling in her circus workshop! What fun we had! Thanks to all those who came along and to those who helped organise these memorable activities. Special thanks so much to volunteers Tony, Geoff, Eddie and Michelle.
