OK blokes, it's our turn!

The Hut has just received funding from Resthaven's 75th Anniversary 2010 program to devise a project to assist and encourage men to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

I have been given the task to develop a project which will -

  •     be a lifestyle program that will be interesting and enjoyable -
        just for men      
  •     consist of a range of topics that will be both physical and social
  •     increase men's awareness of aspects of a healthy lifestyle

    The program will take place over twelve weeks, with a two-hour session being run each week from The Hut.   We are planning to commence the program early in August.

    This is an opportunity to work on a project for men, to meet men's interests and lifestyle needs.    And here is where I need some assistance.
  •     Do you have any suggestions and ideas on what a lifestyle program for men should involve?
  •     Are you aware of any activities or resources that would be appropriate?
  •     Would you like to help out as a volunteer in supporting the program, by being on a planning group, or assisting during the program, or both?
  •     Are you aware of anyone whose current lifestyle would benefit from engaging in more physical and social activity?

    I reckon, with volunteers, a program could be put together that would be enjoyable, meaningful and beneficial for older men.

    Let's show the community that we blokes can move too!
