Learning Pathways

The Learning Pathways project provides assistance for Hills residents interested in undertaking TAFE training as a pathway towards further education or employment. The project is funded by SA Work's Adult Community Education Program, operates out of the Hut Community Centre in Aldgate and services both the Adelaide Hills Council and District Council of Mt Barker regions.

Chris Lumsden, the Learning Pathways Project Officer, helps Hills volunteers and community members identify existing skills and experience to gain formal recognition toward TAFE qualifications. A training plan is arranged with participants that takes into account their time and money restraints while meeting the individual's personal needs and goals. Financial assistance can also be provided to cover training costs based on individual eligibility criteria.

The Learning Pathways Project works closely with the Mt Barker campus of TAFESA to develop accredited training options that are flexible and easily accessible catering for the specialised needs of adult learners. For people returning to the workforce, the project offers training pathways that can help improve confidence and motivation while forging valuable support and information networks.

If you are interested in finding out more about Learning Pathways or wish to register for training assistance, please contact Chris Lumsden at The Hut Community Centre Mondays to Thursdays on 8339 4400 or email learningpathways@thehut.org.au
